| The Student Chapter of the Macomb AEYC met on September 27, 2007 at 4:30 PM Kate Cole explained the roles of : *President *Vice president *Secretary *Treasurer The new officers are: Co-presidents – Carlie Robertson, Amy Gorman Vice president- Jennifer Shaw Secretary- Linda Martin Treasurer- Janeve Weigang Next meeting will be held on Friday Oct. 26th ath Olga’s near the college. Future meetings will possibly be held on Friday evenings 6:30 PM Topics of next meeting: We will discuss ideas to fund student scholarships to upcoming conferences. Some possible fundraising ideas include, but are not limited to: selling puppets and having a Scholastic Book Fair at the upcoming January conference, possible bowling fundraiser, and a silent auction on campus. There will also be discussion of any group trips, such as a trip to Arts and Scraps or the Scholastic Outlet. We are also going to explore any possible ways to volunteer in the community, such as helping out at the Head Start holiday meal. Another idea is to offer to provide training to in-home child care providers in the form of a workshop ie. Cultural training, make and take, math activities, etc. Meeting adjourned at 6:00 pm. |
