*Place colored shapes around the room and give children a bean bag. The child will toss the bean bag onto one of the shapes and jump to that shape. (Or skip, run, hop, etc.)

*Hop in place, forward or backward

*Skip or Skip with a partner

*Ropes: can you make shapes out of the rope; tie a knot in it; jump over it, go under it, or walk on it?

*Parachutes: make waves with it, put a ball on it and roll it around or roll it to a friend, raise it and have children run under it

*Tires: walk around the rim of the tire, step in and out of the tires, hang it and through a ball or bean bag through it.  Small tires can be rolled.

*Balance Beam
     If you don’t have a balance beam, or are concerned with young children twisting ankles, place
     a piece of colored masking tape on the floor and have children walk on in the same manner
     as a balance beam.)  Children can try walking on this with a bean bag on their head, or again,
     balancing an object on their palm.)

*Hopscotch

*Dancing to music
Walk
*Walk slowly or fast throughout a defined space
*Walk in a circle, square, rectangle, triangle
*Walk forwards and backwards
*Walk on tiptoes and heels
*Walk lightly and heavily
*Walk with a bean bag or other objects on the child’s head
*Walk while balancing objects on the child’s palm

Run
*Run with knees high
*Run backwards
*Run on tiptoes
*Move like animals
*Run in circles or zig zag patterns

Jump
*Jump in place or over objects
*Jump to rhythms

*Chimney Crawl
     Create a row of blocks, parallel to each other, wide enough for children to fit between.
     Children lie on their stomach and “wiggle” through the block path.

*Obstacle Course

*Hang a hula hoop from the ceiling and allow children to throw a bean bag through the center

*Walk while balancing an object on a spoon

*Create a golf course using blocks
